Update: January 2017 I am still using and LOVING this product, Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil is a game-changing life-changing product that needs to be on your bathroom counter!

Today I was one of the first to try Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil incorporated in my monthly IonActive facial with Louise Gray Skincare, and I can tell you from experience, dewy skin starts here.

Tuesday marked the debut of Dermalogica’s newest product, Phyto Replenish Oil, celebrated with an NZ beauty media brunch followed by a one-on-one Q&A. While I was intending to incorporate it into my daily skin routine (soon, I promise), I was delighted to have my skin therapist this morning apply it for me while reinforcing the benefits and encouraging me to take action myself at home. Now, I’m beyond convinced.

The first oil-based product I’ve found just as suitable for all-day hydration as it is for night-time skin recovery, Dermalogica’s Phyto Replenish Oil is set to do much more than that. It replenishes the skin’s protective lipids (protecting against environmental stress) and leaving skin super dewy.

The oil is a millennial’s dream, taking a three-phase approach to heal, nourish and protect the skin, and being the easiest skincare oil to incorporate in your skincare regime. Featherlight and unfussy, perfect for inclusion with your morning moisturiser or foundation, and potent enough as an overnight oil, its blend of Camellia, Tamanu, Orchid Flower and Chia Seed oil work together to diminish the look of lines, hydrate, moisturise and protect against pollution (did you know skin is susceptible to pollution)?

The phases: strengthens the skin’s natural barriers; hydrates and smoothes dehydration lines and locks in moisture; and shields against free radical damage.

You can experience the Phyto Replenish Oil yourself with a 10 minute Face Fit Dewy Skin facial at Louise Gray Skincare and other Dermalogica salons for just $15 which is *redeemable on product* – amazing, and you know which product to take home riiight…

At Tuesday’s launch I spoke to Dermalogica guru Emma Hobson (Head of Education for Dermalogica Australia) about the best way to incorporate the oil with your existing regime, whether Dermalogica or not.

  • In the morning: cleanse, tone, prime, moisturise, apply foundation and mix a few drops with either of the latter three steps or add the oil right at the end of your beauty regime, over your foundation. However you go about it, dewy glowing skin is guaranteed.
  • During the day: apply the oil to fingers and apply firm pressure to pat and massage into skin, towards temples, between your brows, under cheekbones, and around jawline (video below).
  • At night: like the morning, cleanse, tone and moisturise and either include 4-6 drops within the moisturiser or apply after.

Fresh, radiant, dewy skin continues to grace runways and editorial – not only does it look effortless, but it is a marked sign of youth

It’s available at authorised Dermalogica stockists from 1st November and until then, you’ll be treated to it at Louise Gray skincare with your facial. Get dewy!
