“Bobbi Glow” is much more than brilliant marketing – and this is proven once again in the latest offering from Bobbi Brown: Skin Nourishing Glow Foundation. I’ve been wearing this foundation for a month now, and it’s truly Bobbi Brown’s most glowy, radiant foundation, as this review shows.
This foundation will have you glowing even through the cooler months.
Before I even got my hot little hands on one (this beautiful photo is via Chloeash) but I popped into Bobbi Brown Britomart yesterday to experience it for myself.
Expert artist Olivia talked me through the entire skin perfecting range, and totally pampered me – it was like a mini facial at morning tea. I’m now not only saving up for Bobbi’s entire Beauty in Bloom range, but also corrector, concealer, and a whole belt of brushes too. But first, let’s glow.
Infused with a moisture-reviving marine extract and collagen-enhancing ferment, this richly emollient yet lightweight hybrid cream foundation delivers moisture and luminous coverage for a polished, lit-from-within look.
I asked Rebecca for a very natural, light daywear look, and even opted to wear no mascara or lip-colour. Nourishing Glow is a very buildable liquid foundation, but the light coverage applied was exactly what I was looking for. It’s perfect for the cooler weather as it has a good level of moisturise, and a collagen-enhancing ingredient from the Antartic Sea to strengthen skin.
By wearing just a light foundation and a touch of coloured bronze and blush, Rebecca perfected a ‘no make-up’ Monday, but completely covered my under-eye circles and both lifted and brightened my entire face and eyes. Put simply: my colleagues notice I look brighter and better than usual, but don’t realise it’s because I’ve been sitting in the chair of a professional make-up artist!
Rebecca matched my skin colour using three different stick foundations (though, naturally, the first she tried was perfect, because she’s a pro!) and then talked me through face preparation, concealer and corrector, before applying Nourishing Glow (in beige). I particularly liked the brush she applied it with ‘Full Coverage Face Brush’. While I usually use an Estee Lauder foundation brush, Bobbi’s Face Brush was perfect for a very light application.
She finished me off with only the tiniest amount of Illuminating Powder in Bare, Golden Light Bronzer and Pot Rouge in Pale Pink. I’m in love with my “no-make-up” make up and I’m thinking about replacing my daily coffee break with a daily Bobbi-break – I just haven’t told Rebecca yet!
Once I received Bobbi Brown’s Glowing Foundation, I put it through its paces to review it properly…
And I’m totally in love – it’s so easy to apply, it blends perfectly, and wears well throughout the day. It feels really lightweight, yet has staying power – I don’t feel the need to reapply which I sometimes do with lighter foundations. I particularly like the creamy finish to the foundation, which seems to give my skin a really natural, dewy glow. I’m still waiting to see if the collagen enhancing ferment does my skin any particular favours – but my skin does feel more hydrated and moisturised when wearing Nourishing Glow.
In two words, light and luminous.
Have you tried Bobbi Brown’s Nourishing Glow yet? Do you agree with my review? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
