Having been engaged for only about 3 minutes, the excitement and magnitude of planning a wedding has kept me on my toes already. There is so much to see, plan and do. It can be overwhelming. I can only imagine how stressed I might be in the lead up to the wedding so I have been thinking about beauty products that help me unwind and de-stress.
Beauty Picks that will Help you Destress
Avene Eye Makeup Remover: Pampering can be done in so many ways but my first step to de-stressing is removing my make up. This gentle eye makeup remover from Avene is my go to. Not only does this remove eye makeup easily, it also soothes and hydrates the eye area and softens and clears the skin. Why not give your eye area some TLC while you remove your makeup?
Lush Comforter Bubble Bar: No doubt, one quick and fail proof way to unwind is by treating yourself to a bubble bath. In my opinion, no bath is complete without a bath treat to brighten it up. One of my favourite bath products to help me de-stress is the Lush Comforter bubble bar. The bar smells delicious, creates so many bubbles and it makes you feel like you are being cuddled by a blackberry cloud. I can already feel the stress washing away.
Soda and Co Body Scrub: Whether you love a bath to wash away your woes or if you prefer a shower to de-stress, you should always make time for a body scrub and this fun scrub from Soda and Co is just what the doctor ordered. This scrub exfoliates and moisturises your skin at the same time with gorgeous ingredients like jojoba and cocoa butter. It smells delicious and lets your mind forget all those niggling worries. Plus, it leaves your skin super smooth and we all know how amazing that feels.
Kiehl’s Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque: One of my favourite beauty products to unwind with is a face mask. The Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque from Kiehls is a quick solution to hydrate and refresh your skin. Made with Calendula petals and aloe vera, it is soothing and even works on sensitive skin. My skin has been going through some bad days. I don’t know if I can completely blame this on my stress levels (my addiction to chocolate and cheese might also play a part) but my skin has been dull and dry and this mask is said to work wonders on dull, tired or dehydrated skin. Seems like a match made in heaven.
Laneige lip mask: I already mentioned a mask for your face so it only seems fitting that I mention a mask for your lips. When I am stressed, my lips know it and they can get sore and chapped. This mask is an easy way to perk up dry, dehydrated lips and a quick swipe over the lips is all it takes. This lip mask works to remove dead skin and restore elasticity back into your lips. I normally use this before I go to sleep so it can work its magic overnight.
Linden Leaves body Oil: Massage all those knots out your body and relax stressed muscles with this delicious body oil from Linden Leaves. Using a concoction of oils like avocado, almond and apricot, this body oil is hydrating and quickly absorbs into the skin. It comes in a delicious lavender scent which is so soothing and relaxing, it’s the perfect after bath treat for your skin and your stress levels
Manuka Doctor ApiBronze Anti-Cellulite Bronzing Gel: We all love having radiant glowing skin and although I do have a natural tan year around, my skin can do with some radiance. It would also help soothe my pre-wedding stress levels knowing this gel works to reduce the look of cellulite. I can’t imagine anything more relaxing than knowing my wedding bod will be bronzed, smoothed and moisturised for my big day.
Lancome Absolue Precious Cells Intense Revitalizing Emulsion: Every pampering and de-stressing routine needs a product that makes you feel like a million dollars and this one definitely does that. Not only is the packaging gorgeous and luxurious, but the product is too. This emulsion from Lancome is a secret weapon if you want skin that is youthful, radiant, soft and nourished. It doesn’t matter if I am stressed or having the best day of my life, I always want my skin to look radiant and youthful.
Faby Polish: One of my favourite ways to unwind and de-stress is a new manicure. I love doing my nails and I love using polishes that make DIY manicures a breeze. Faby has just introduced their new range of Posh polishes. Not only are these colours gorgeous, they are easy to apply and they are long-wearing. I have been wearing the shade Rouge Fonce for the past two weeks and it wears really well which is perfect for the low-maintenance manicure girls like myself.
Slip Silk mask: I have only recently discovered this mask and it is simply gorgeous. Whether you’re hitting the hay for the night or having a nap to catch some beauty zzz’s this mask is worth looking into. These masks are 100% pure silk and feel luxurious. There is something so relaxing about shutting the outside world out and this makes it so easy to relax and unwind.
Speaking of, it has been a long day and I am ready to put on my silk mask and slip into bed. Whether you are planning a wedding, recuperating from a tough day at work or if you just want some beauty products to help you unwind and feel good, I hope my beauty picks will help you as much as they help me.
